My '88 4-door did it on front pas. side & now my '91 3-door on pas. side, when I take it thru the car wash (& prob. in heavy rain).
The mouldings on both are intact & I spent days trial & erroring extra foam strips on the 4-door to seal the leak. It helped some but never got to 100%.
It MUST be the body to moulding clearance (what else could it be?). One thing I didn't try is adjusting the door latch striker plate inward to close up the clearance. I'm not sure the adjustment is there which if not, means removing, slotting & closing up the mount holes.
After replacing the 2-door glass & spending 2 days tweaking the glass outer rubber strip angle mounting lip so as to gain enough clip clearance so's not to scratch & still optimally seal the rubber to the glass to minimize water leakage (YES - there IS an optimal angle & clearance!), I sometimes wonder why Saab just didn't sell the 900's as kit cars & let us do it right in the first place.)
Love to tinker...
