Tranny oil changing question... Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] (#829) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JustinHiFi) on Tue, 5 Dec 2000 08:21:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yesterday I got up under my '91 and looked, located and cleaned off the 7 bolts&plate on the rear of my stick tranny. I told my dad last night that I was considering changing it since we have never done before and did not know how long it has been. He told me it is not needed seeing that the oil is clean and clear, and it has not broken down yet. I do not believe him seeing that his '95 Chevy Crew Cab w/ 6.5L v8 diesel turbo tranny went out @ 118,000M and my mom's 96' Dodge Dakota w/3.9L v6 tranny is shifting very rough lately! It has 95,000 miles on it. I figured that I would replace it with the 10-30 dino oil seeing that's what's in there now and it shift great!
Thanks and please let me know if I'm wrong!
