slipping clutch...hard to fix?

This is a continuation of a previous post in which I stated that I was getting lots of boost on my 86 SPG, but not much power. Someone suggested my clutch may be slipping, which seems to make sense to me, I've noticed other symptoms to that effect. My question is how hard is it to fix. I have a Bentley manual, and clutch replacement is covered fairly extensively in it. But is it an easy do-it yourself repair? Do I need special tools? I'd appreciate some help with this one.
