I got into SAABs as an outgrowth of my love of turbo buick regals and old VW aircooled cars. An '87 Buick GN runs like 15 psi stock. This is a 3.8l 231 CID V6 with sequential fuel injection and an intercooler. Most aftermarket chips up the boost to at least 18 and as much as 23psi in the lower gears. A turbo regal also weighs a good 1/2 ton more than a 900. 20 psi is not really a big deal for these cars. Like others have said, it is not psi that produces power but cfm. Try blowing through a straw and then through a paper towel tube. It will take a lot of pressure to blow through the straw but not that much air will pass through. On the other hand, you can blow all you want through the paper towel tube without really generating any kind of pressure but you can blow as much air as your lungs can handle. It's air VOLUME not Pressure that creates power. Assuming of course that your fuel system can supply enough fuel to burn that much air of course. Hope you all find this interesting and informative.
