Start with the car cold. You'll find a bleed nipple by the thermostat housing, which is on the engine at the end of the top hose running to the radiator.
Put a thin rubber hose from the bleeder to a container (at least a cup). With the heater valve turned all the way ON (HOT), start the car. Then use a small wrench to crack open the bleeder. You'll get some air and fluid out - spit. Close the bleeder and wait. Every 30 seconds or so as the engine warms up, open the bleeder a little and drain a little fluid and air. As long as you get bubbles coming out, the system still has air. Eventually all you'll get is fluid - the system has been bled.
