Matt here's a simple way to find ground take your circuit tester hook up the aligater clip to a known constant positive with ignition off, then probe your questionable grounds when you light up you've hit a ground. I use this method whenever I'm wiring up a radio, often when working on different cars the wires are different colors so I use my trusty circuit tester to locate my important wires.
