I own a '90 hard top and a '94T-conv.(still classic body). There is not much appreciable difference in the two cars. With the turbo models, everything is the same engine and transmission wise. The non-turbo engines of 91-93 900's have some inherent problems(weak head gaskets and engine block material). Thats not saying they were bad engines, just need to be mindful of the headgasket area. The turbo engines of these years is the 2.0L. Good engine if taken care of.
With a '93 turbo you will get the 3-spoke aero wheels, which look great on a classic 900.
In a nutshell, a '93 Turbo will make a very nice car. No less or any more problems than any other 900 year. These cars are great, but you must stay on top of maintenance, which can occasionally cost some $$$, but you will find that the cars are worth it. Buy a repair manual and learn to do alot of things on your own.
Lastly, and most importantly, take the considered car to a good SAAB mechanic(Dealer or indy shop) and have it checked out. I personally have had the dealer check out all the 900's I have bought. They will tell you everything that is possibly wrong with the car.
Good Luck
