This is strange.
Other ideas, from cheap to expensive:
Cheap:
Are all of the rubber grommets that hold the vacuum hose nipples to the intake manifold and the grommets for the vacuum hose to the power brake booster in there firmly?
Is the vacuum reservoir in good shape (this could pop if the check valve failed.)
More expensive:
Is the thin wire in the AMM intact?
You don't want to think about it:
Did the turbo cough an inlet vane that's holed the intercooler?
Does the distributor turn when you crank the engine? (you really don't want to think about this one - but, if the engine still ran [instead of coasting for that block you mentioned in your previous post], this probably isn't the problem.)
