i definitly agree a lighter weight oil will allow the engine to turn over quicker with less voltage. My 85 starts right up in 20 and below weather. All i do to prepare for cold starts are i put lighter weight oil, clean or replace spark plugs, and that about it. Also try turning the key for a second, letting go, then turning it over again, it fires right up for me. I dont know if that helps any but good luck.
