Did mine too... about two weeks ago. I took a slightly different approach than Cliff did, as I wanted a larger battery and I wanted to keep it out of the passenger compartment just in case of the worst.

I used a "Red Top" Optima SpiralCell battery and stuck it behind the rear seat, in the trunk. I was originally going to put it under the floor, near the spare, but decided that a) I'd rather have the weight over the rear axle than behind, and b) since I already have sacrificed the rear seat folding by bolting a pair of amps to the rear seat back it didn't matter anyway. Plus the 10-disc changer in trunk... basically, my trunk was shot anyway, so why worry? :)

I picked up a (believe it or not) Battery Relocation Kit from a local Tognottis. You can them elsewhere - I believe Summit Racing sells them as well. It included 16' of 2-gauge red (+) wire (I used exactly 13.6'), a 1' 2-gauge black (-) wire, lugs, and a battery tray with tie-downs for $40. Additionally, I had a 3' section of slightly thinner red wire (4 gauge?) made by a local auto electrical shop and purchased a second 1' section of 4-gauge black wire.

The battery is in the trunk, grounded to the middle seatbelt lug - I removed the rear center seatbelt since no one ever sits there anyway. The second 1' section of black wire runs from the original front ground point to the transmission - this ground lead is VERY important. The positive cable runs under the rear seat, up the driver's side of the car, through a grommet in the firewall right by the brake booster. It routes cleanly under the coolant resevior and to the starter. I ran the second length of wire from the starter to the distribution point, going over the tranny just like the original battery lead. I also bought a second distribution point from a local car audio shop which is bolted to the rear seat back, and provides power locations for my amps, alarm, cd changer, and head unit.

Overall, I totally sacrificed the trunk. On the plus side, I ended up with a very over-sized battery, better weight distribution (Cliff's placement may be ideal for this - between the F&R axles), and a perfect location for getting power to audio equipment.

One note: If you relocate your battery, go buy yourself some longer jumper cables at the same time. It totally sucks when you can't position your car close enough to jump (or get a jump from) another car and your cables are too short... :) My friend with a BMW learned the hard way... :)
