Does your Saab make a hissing noise only when boosting? If it is, then it could be the same problem I had.
I replaced the piece altogether, bypassing it means loosing engine protection, and I really can't afford an engine replacement in the near future. Saab dealer wanted $120.00, so I bought a used one from my mechanic for $30.
The overboost pressure switch is located on the left hand side, just left of the steering wheel. You only need to remove the bottom knee bolster to access it(no need to remove dash). You will see a bunch of relays, behind them is where the switch is located. Unscrew the brackets holding the relays and the switch will be fairly accessible. I also tested all the vacuum hoses while I had access to them, just in case. Job took me about 1/2 hour including removing and re-installing the knee bolster et al.
I opened up my old one, the rubber diaphram inside had a real nice tear in it.
Good Luck
Boris
