Question on auto trans draining...

I've noticed that the quick service station that the saab I just bought put too much oil and too much transmission fluid in the car. The oil is about 3/4 inch above the max line and the tranny fluid is about 1/4 inch abou the hot max line (90+ Celcius?). I'm going to drain a little oil out because I can do this, but how can I extract some of the tranny fluid without using special tools or getting too messy? Is there a way to safely siphon some out without going under the car?? What are some of the precautions and/or problems with having a little too much fluid in the car (oil and trans fluid)?? Thanks for any comments.
