But I fought with it for a while the first time. The way to do it is take out the retainer bolt, then put your key in ign. and turnto acc. Put the car in low (1st) andturn ign. off. Doing this provides enough slack to disconnect the cable. Go under the hood and with your left arm pull the cable housing towards the firewall. This reveals a shiny steel sleeve that you can slide towards the front of your car. Once you do this you will see the end of the cable handshaked with the gear selector in the tranny. The rest is self expl. Remember to check the o-ring on the cable end that you just disconnected. Sometimes they harden and cause leaks. Replace if necc.
