Valve cover gasket/vacuum loss, long

Still trying to get better boost (only 3/4 yellow max now) & get rid of engine hunt (happens during normal speeds in all 3 a/t gears),... 87 900t.
I noticed oil leaking from valve cover & strands of rubber gasket material hanging from bottom of cover. Can I assume that if oil is leaking, vacuum is also leaking & perhaps causing low boost & engine hunt? Looks like the cover was previously sealed with rubber sealant rather than gasket.
Otherwise the car cranks immediately when cold & runs well (except for the hunting), but requires revving up to get proper idle when cranking warm.
So far I have cleaned the throttle body & AIC, new plugs, wires, rotor, dist. cap, checked & repaired several vacuum leaks, replaced leaking injector & repaired leaking fuel rail elbow.
Still to do: Clean throt. body & AIC (again), replace fuel filter, recheck for vacuum leaks (w/ miti-vac this time), replace valve cover gasket & get a Bently manual (got a Bently for my TR6 & have'nt used the Haynes since).
Any ideas on the boost & hunting will be greatly appreciated.
You guys have been very helpful in the past. THANKS!
87 900T, 88K
