First, you do not need to yell (caps), I am only a few inches from the screen. This may be stating the obvious, but if you are new to the car, this quirk may nnot be clear... Make sure that you have the heater selection correct. If you have selected a vent option with a little square above or between the arrows, it will allow untreated air (outside air) through the center vent. If it is indeed a heat problem, you may be low on coolant or there may be an air pocket in the cooling system. Is the reservoir full? Did you bleed the air from the nipple on the thermostat housing? If these are ok and the cool air develops when it is idling and you have heat when you are on the road moving, you are the victim of a cruel joke that saab played with the 91+ cars. The heater bypass valve/passage (anti backflow valve) is bad and needs to be replaced. You can replace the valve or replace the hoses with the other style which does not have the un-needed valve as I have done.
