Connect the fuel pressure gauge and run the pump, Shut off the pump and the fuel pressure should drop .2 bar and hold steady for 20 min. If it drops you have a leak. But is the leak in the fuel pump check valve or the fuel pressure regulator check valve? How do I check? Easy, run the fuel pump. when you shut it off, pinch the soft RUBBER return line, not the hard plastic one, if the fuel pressure now holds, the regulater is bad. If it still drops, the one in the pump is bad or maybe a leaky injector.
