I sold my beautiful red 1988 900s yesterday after 7 years of ownership. She gave me a lot of pleasure over that time, but at a considerable cost, both in money (I learned to hate the local dealer) and frustration.
She was replaced by a Saturn ( please hold your comments, I understand how you feel about cookie cuter U.S. cars) but the good news is that my other car is a 1986 VW GTI.
The cost of keeping the SAAB were just getting out of hand (and the rust had started) , even though I was doing most of the upkeep myself. I must say that over the last few years this web site kept me going....both with advice and intertainment and I want to thank all of the people who contribute here. I realize that with my Saturn there will no such group of people to call on for advice and feel bad about that. Everyone who is a member of this site and owns a
SAAB should realize how very lucky they are to have this source and I think most of you do realize this.
If you meet me in my Saturn in traffic in the future you will not recognize me because I will blend into the traffic in my bland Saturn , and not stand out as I did in my red 900s, but I will recognize you, so please return my wave.
