Doug, thanks very much for your advice of Monday, 22 October. It worked exactly as you said. Putting the passenger side in first made all the difference! Moving the motor as far toward the passenger side and the transport the same way allowed the big mounting bracket to be tilted up and toward the engine just enough for the driver side of the mechanism to slide under the sill above the firewall. Thanks again to you, Mike 87 900s, and others who responded to my plea for help. This bulletin board is a wonderful resource for do-it-yourselfers like me. Rick
