Rear Fog Lights

I'm upgrading the fog lights on my '86 900 hatchback from Hella 550s (rectangular, above the bumper) to Cibié Tango 40s (round, also above the bumper).
The Hellas are clear white (not yellow), so I'm thinking of mounting them in back (below the rear bumper), and use them as a backing-up light. Has anyone done this? I'm trying to think of the best way to route the wire from the dash to the light (especially how to get from inside the car to outside at the bumper). Also, how would I mount the light to the bumper? Does it have holes for a bracket, like the front bumper?
I originally thought of splicing off the normal reverse lights to power the fogs, but I don't think the wires could handle the extra load (I'd also like the option of turning the fogs on/off independent of the reverse lights).
Oh, and all the same questions for a 1980 99 2-door.
TIA
Roger
