Removing the front springs is pretty easy given you have the proper tools. The other week, I just uninstalled two sets of original front 900t springs using a not so perfectly designed spring compressor and it took alot longer w/ more effort. The spring compressor I normally use is similar to the pic below and works well enough. The springs in your car currently have a free height of 11.8 inches. The normal opening between the spring tower and the spring seat on the A-arm, w/ the shock removed, is about 10.5 inches. So, you only have to compress the spring aproximately 1 inch. This is alot less than 900t or 900s springs that have a free height close to 15inches. The trick to using the spring compressor type below is to get them as far apart as possible so the rear of the spring compresses and not just the front.
Intrax springs will not require the spring compressor to be used b/c their free height is actually 10.5inches!
You should cut off the first nodule of the bump stop so that it does not interfere w/ the spring rate of the spring. OEM springs are softer and need a more gradual bumpstop. Cutting off the first nodule will not effect the bump stop rate severely and allow proper protection from driveshaft damage. Also if you are running proper diameter wheel/tire combo, it should still prevent the tire from contacting the fenderwell
