Along Jeff's direction of advice, one way that doesn't leave a black ring around the your mouth or make you hyperventilate is the inner tube bleeder.
I took a 2.25 (or so) by 26 rubber mountain bike inner tube and cut it to make a poor man's pressure bleeder. You can use the brake fluid cap by taking the float switch off it (make sure to put it on something clean.) Slip one end of the inner tube through the large hole and stretch the edge of the tube so you can wrap the edges up the outside of the cap to the top.
Tie the other end of the tube as tightly as you can as many times as you can. That won't completely stop air leakage, but it gives enough time to do what you need to do.
It takes a bit of doing to screw the cap back on the brake reservoir, but it's not too bad. Give it 5 to 10 psi of air from a bike pump and open up the clutch bleeder nipple.
I've been using 3/8" (IIRC) clear tubing to go from the bleeder nipple to a waste jar. The tubing pushes onto the bleeder nipple fairly easily and gives an OK seal. It also lets you see when bubbles stop coming out of the bleeder nipple.
And keep an eye on the fluid level.
