Take a look at the underbody of the car. It should tell you a pretty good story about its life. Check really hard for rust by the wheels and in the engine bay. Check on the ground where the car has been sitting for any oil, fluids, ect. Always check the CV boots. Well you really cant base the car on how it drives now since you are swapping the trans. Find out how many miles are on the manual trans hes putting in. Tell him why he has it out to redo the clutch and clutch plate. Redo all the bushings and connection. It might be a little more but definetly worth it. If it only has 109k on it there shouldnt be to many problems. The turbo is probably fine but make sure you get it checked out. Last thing that could cause your problems are the suspension. Make sure the shocks and struts are up to shape and that the A-arm and there busking arent bad. Good luck man she sounds like a good buy
