'85 900T16 4dr 5spd, 128k

i've had a slight vibration while accelerating for a while now, but it's slowly getting worse. it's worse uphill, downhill, and around curves (left and right). when i let up on the throttle it disappears. every time i hit the throttle again it starts up slowly then is a steady beat. sort of like -- thunk.....thunk....thunk..thunk..thunk..thunk..

bad inner drivers are only a slight slip on acceleration then drive as normal, right? anyway, i checked them for play and there doesn't seem to be any.

perhaps a wheel bearing? but it only does it on acceleration, so..

around 5k ago i replaced all the front balljoints, shock bushings & tie-rod ends. a week ago i replaced the driver side drive axle (i drove on a torn boot throughout the winter, so i thought that was the source of the problem). i replaced the passenger side drive axle probably around a year ago, 15-20k back.

ANY suggestions or guesses would be great.
