I have a 92 9000S with 168K with a bad slave cylinder (I have to bleed clutch once a day to drive it), and it has a little noise in the trans, that might not go away if the release bearing is replaced, and so facing at least $1000 in repairs, after replacing the master cylinder, alternator, exhaust, heater core, cabin filter, belt tensioner, serpentine belt, front brake pads, air filter, and spark plugs within the last 15 months or so, I'm getting shy of fixing things.
Who thinks I should fix the car and keep going, it's otherwise ok.
Or, look at the following:
1. 92 900 hatchback (my favorite) $1500, needs one rim, 138K, new brake shoes, cold ac, girl bought it 9 months ago as a temp car off a dealer's lot, no known history, auto trans, but everything presently excellent
2. 91 900s 4 door, auto trans, with 113K, $2800 in recent repairs, mostly engine (head gasket, alt, crank seal, etc., plus tie-rods, ball joints, cv joints), for $2700
3. 90 900S 4 door, 110K, recent rebuilt auto trans, new ps rack, maybe timing belt, he has to check his receipts from a couple years ago, $2100
4. medium blue 4 door 92 900S with 45K original miles for $2200
I've missed my 86 hatchback 900S since I've sold it, but the 9000's have their charm, so many decisions and wondering what to do...
