I own a '90 non-turbo and as Andrew says...power around town is non-existant. SAAB's are fantastic highway cars even non-turbo's but off the line prepare for the embarresment that comes with being smoked by Kia's, Hondas etc. Doesn't bother me. Also be prepared for the guy behind you at a stop light to be right on your bumper during that shift from 1st to 2nd.

Uphill if you are at highway speeds it's fine...if slower a downshift is necessary.

The car will take some punishment though....I wring the hell out of the engine and at 150K miles with regular oil changes it is just fine. The transmission on a turbo would need a bit more babying at least in the lower gears to preserve it. Just search here for "transmission" and you'll see what I mean.

Overall very fun and addictive driving cars.
