Removing ball joints using Spacer method. HELP!

Hi all....to the experienced Saabers out there.... We all know how to jack up the suspension and put a block of wood or some other spacer between the frame and the upper control arm in order to be able to remove the ball joints. What the hell do I do when the metal of the frame has torn due to (most likely) too many pieces of wood or spacers made of metal? Or too many ball joint jobs using the spacer method. Now I cannot use a spacer or block of wood because the sheetmetal is tearing....any more messing with it and I might as well cut out the piece that we all use to prop the control arm on.
Only thing I can think of is to get the proper spring compressor and eliminate the need for a spacer......Any other suggestions? Cause I dont know where to get the "proper Saab" spring compressor. Thanks in advance.
