I just bought an SPG, and there are no super secret ways of spotting a real one from a well done fake. The differences are in the SAAB roadholding kit, and possibly in the programming/setting of the APC turbo control unit, but since you mentioned in another post that yours has been modified or replaced, that doesn't help. The major key thing that most copycats probably wouldn't bother with is the leather shift boot. Outside of that you would have to compare the VIN with someone more knowledgeable than I.
