A change to the procedure: your car has an aluminum cylinder head. Change the coolant every other year. I just finished doing this (made a limited mess of the driveway) because I had to change my water pump (Laso pump lasted nine months) and heater valve (aftermarket valve lasted fifteen months). I found that the new Saab coolant is bluish so I said what the heck, I may as well replace the old coolant in there, and I'm glad I did. You'd never believe how much crud (visible and ionic) is floating around in there after a couple of years. This is why the service interval listed in the manual is for two-year intervals for new coolant (Saab, Prestone, etc.) or one year for the recycled crap (Advance Auto, repair shops, etc.) I've noticed they are different. I'm going to post a little on the topic soon anyway.
Good job, good luck, and what does the temperature matter if you've got a convertible? (I've got sunscreen in the glove box in mine!)
