seems like everything was in order. but the reason i am wrighting is becouse of the step with the bleeder screw,
when the system is filled with coolent with motor off and screw open when fluid is poured in the screw will allow all air out of the system and only when a straight stream off coolent is flowing out the screw should it be closed,
all this is done with a motor that is not running,
makes me think the thermo you have dose not have the air bypass hole, and air was left in the system and it fomed up the coolent, could be the coolent was fome at the time the bleed screw was open to let air out, the fome may have been traped in the system some where allowing the liquid coolent to flow under the fome or the fome may have passed the screw entirely resulting in bubbling out the bleeder screw, or being the green coolent was very old it may have left green slime or its chemical make up through out your entire cooling system (chemical break down of the coolent) and with the new blue or saab coolent that was added after the flush may also have triggered the coolent to fome resulting in valve failure and not pump failure.
