Ken H,
You really need to look at the hall effect. I would bet that this is the problem. I had this very same problem several years ago. It ran me crazy. I would leave for work in the early mornings and the car would run great. On my way back home in the afternoons, the car would stop at the same place (or very close to the same place) every time. The car would start right up. I had just purchased a new distributor so I did not think that it was the problem. I troubleshooted for weeks trying to find out the problem. Finally, I purchased another distributor and the problem went away. The problem was that the hall effect would get hot. If I were you, I would try a new/rebuilt distributor. I had an 86 turbo so the hall effect is in the distributor. I think your might be on the crankshaft. Someone else can verify. Hope this helps. george
