As best I can tell, there's a bow type tensioner on the intake manifold side of the chain with a spring type device that pushes against it that's about the level of the top of the block / bottom of the head level. There are one or two small bolts (maybe 10mm head) holding the tension clip. On the other side it looks like there's another bow type device holding the chain it.
All I'm trying to do is take the head off without moving the timing chain. I don't see any marks or alignment notches on the cam shaft. The engine is at TDC my the mark on the flywheel. The online directions suggest wedging a handle of the screwdriver between the timing chain to hold it in place, while releasing the tensioner.
It's difficult for me to tell if the tensioner goes around the bottom of the chain, which is what I think that you're suggesting.
Thanks. Any other suggestions or comments are appreciated greatly. Don't have a shop manual or guide to check.
