sorry to hear they did that...
On a good note, my wife was in the garage with her the car (1987 900S four door), engine running, had the drivers door open about 1 foot, her foot slipped off the clutch, yep it was in reverse in preparation to shut down and remove the key, so the car runs back about three or four feet until the open door hits the wooden cabinet mounted on the wall between the one and two door garage doors. thank God she had both hands on the steering wheel at the time, I don't know how that happened! her door caught the wooden cabinet and was forced into the wood. wood is pretty strong it turns out, sprung the hinges and prevented the drivers door from closing. not a chance it would latch, air gap all around (pretty much...). Trip to the body shop, new hinges, paint the door, and that was about 95,000 miles ago. really. works fine. make sure your body shop is aware of your concerns *before* they get the job. either they feel confident they can do it, or not. Remind them they took on the job because they could do it!
