intake grommet MIA, sucked in......?

This weekend I lost the top mount intake bushing/connector and grommet closest to the brake booster intake .
When it happened the car immediately went to >6500RPM (large intake leak). I pulled over and noticed the missing plastic and hose. The lower half of the grommet was still in the intake. I stuffed a rag in the hole and limped home.
Got home and the lower half of the grommet was MIA. Where would this guy get stuck? Would it make it past the intake valve?
Advice?
