I think retro sells here in the US. Look how many of the new Mustangs are on the road now. Chevy is coming out with a retro-styled Camaro and of course there's Crycos 2008 Dodge Challenger. I doubt that we can expect the new Saab Turbo X styling to be a modern adaptation that's as true to the original as the models I just mentioned--which is too bad. I am, however, excited about the XWD and the eLSD. I expect it will be more like the new Dodge Charger is to the old; four doors instead of two, looking nothing like its namesake, but with modern handling and performance. It doesn't bother me that it's under 300hp as that is just a matter of fixing with a little tuning. The TTD turbo sounds like it is the best of both worlds. Torquey at low RPM and powerful at high. I hope it functions better than the VNT (variable nozzle turbo) that Shelby developed for the mid 90's Dodges. I remember seeing an article on the 8 cylinder 32valve engine that Saab was working on just before the GM debacle. Wouldn't it be nice to have that baby under the hood?
