****FIRST OFF, THIS IS NOT A POLITICS OF E85 THREAD.*****
So please take radical thoughts on the why's and the who's elsewhere.
I'm only talking about the what's and how's (as in parts) here.
Here are my thoughts on what I'd have to do to on a 93 T16 in order to run e85 with a modest performance increase, mileage being pretty far down the list of priorities.
-bigger injectors (Bosch 431s?)
-leaving system pressure stock (45 psi?)
-new fuel filters and a thorough pump check
-3" dp with cat-back (will running a cat adversely affect this?)
-pretty drastic ignition advance (Heard somewhere a 93 is adjusted through the diagnostic port, and does anyone have any idea how much to throw in?)
-figure running about 15 psi boost
I have heard of dudes in sweden running these setups at 220-230 crank hp. Leaking fuel lines are minimized as long as your lines are in good condition to start with. Fuel pump failures seem to have been in higher mileage units anyway.
I figure the worst that could happen is one grenaded T16 motor and a crunchy fuel pump and it's not like those are scarce. Would not do this on my B-motor Turbo though, for that very reason.
Whaddya think?
Leif
