Ongoing wet weather issue driving me nuts

I have been dealing with an ongoing problem with wet weather. The issue has been going on for almost a year now, and has worsened over time. What happens: After a good soak, or sometimes a heavy dew, the car (89 SPG) will start. It will idle fine for maybe 5 seconds, then become erratic and start surging. It will nearly stall, then surge, then stall, then surge. If I don’t touch the gas, this behavior will continue for 15-20 minutes (maybe more), then instantly will change to normal idle and be fine. However, if I touch the gas during the stall/surge craziness it will stall completely. Then, it will be nearly impossible to start and keep running for hours. I have replaced:
Cap
Rotor
Coil
Plug wires
Plugs
Distributor (junkyard)
Other items have been replaced (fuel filter, LH control unit, FPR), but they were replaced for other reasons. My next guess would be ignition amplifier (drivcr side fender, near APC unit), or AMM. Could either of these units cause my problems? Keep in mind, it only happens in wet weather, and the car will eventually “fix itself” if left alone while it is struggling to idle. I’m stumped, so I’m looking for hunches.
