Does it shake the steering wheel up and down or left and right? If the steering wheel is up and down then the seat should also shake. If the wheel goes left and right then it is coming from the front tyres. The problem must be isolated, so first put the car in gear with the parking brake on and one foot on the brake. have a friend stand NEXT (NOT IN FRONT)to the car and have him watch as you rev the engine 1500 RPM, Does the engine really try to leap out of the car? Try it also in reverse. If not then the motor mounts and transmission mounts are not the culprits. Now put your hand on top of the strut towers and rock the car back and forth. Do you feel small knocking? Also have a freind drive the car slowly up a drive way where the driveway meets the road. Do you see the tyre and wheel assembly mover backwards horizontally? If so then the problem is on the strut mount bushings. Next check to see if the struts are properly attached jack up the car and try to move the wheel assembly if it is loose then you have pinpointed the problem, If not then using a floor jack and a small 2 x 4 lift up different portions of the engine being careful only to lift at the side of the engine and not the pan. It sounds like bad motor mounts.
