floor insulation questions Posted by ZAAB [Email] (#685) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ZAAB) on Thu, 6 May 2010 06:23:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So I am repairing the floorboards (wire brushed the surface rust, repaired the two holes in the rear seat areas...where little rubber plugs were))...
I painted, immediately after wire brushing and washing with acetone to get oils and crap off, with a quart of rustoleum.
IN the picture, I have put down some sound-proofing insulation, 1/4 inch thick. I cut up an old fire blanket to place over the cat-area, under the shifter bar.
Should I stop there, and just finish it, or should I take the remaining fire blanket, made of wool and other crazy crap, and put it on top of the sound-proofer before I put the carpet back down? That would then have hte thickness of the foam that was originally there (which have been thrown out with gusto...pieces of crap!)
Anthing else I can do while I am completely ripped out?
