B-Pillar Trim lower anchor

So I've been doing the headliner in our sedan, so far so good (got it all out in 1 piece without a helper even - not hard at all, took about an hour)... but I'm not sure how to get the B pillar trim pieces back in properly. The 2 round anchors at the top look easy. It's the 3rd anchor at the bottom that looks problematic, and it explains why the bottoms of these trim bits are frequently loose!!! See photo: blue arrows point to the anchor in question.
Do I just pry the metal spring clip thing out of the pillar (fought with it for a few minutes + seems hard to do), re-attach it to the trim + somehow slide the trim down + snap the anchor in? Has anyone had success with this? Is there a better way to get it back together? It drives me crazy when they are loose (of my 2 cars, 3 of the 4 pieces were loose when I got them)...
thanks!
James...
