I did the same to connect an AutoMeter pressure sender to the end of my rail for my in-cabin gauge. I used the same setup to connect a small pressure gauge with a hose to a car I was trying to dial in with a RRFPR. I just put the hose out under the hood and under a windshield wiper so I could see the gauge through the windshield. If you don't want to drill and tap your banjo bolt, you can get one already made up like ebay item 250408467608.
