shifter rod seal cost?

On my new 900 turbo(nov) I was told by a local Saab shop after a free inspection(as part of a "first" oil change) that my shifter shaft seal is leaking(not bad though). From reading the archives and what Swedecar and others say, it is a one hour or so job and maybe should be done by a Saab mechanic because it is tricky, specialized, need special tools, etc, etc. This shop wants $375. Another Saab shop I called charges around $300. I am a beginner DIY'er and have done many things on both my 900 and 9-5 and want to support a local Saab shop but it seems like it should be at the most around $200-the parts are minimal in cost. Has anybody had this job done? if so, how much were you charged? any thoughts?
thanks,
mark
