typical heater valve symptom, very common in older/high mileage c900. remove left speaker grill and look in towards the front and you'll see where the valve is connected to the heater temp knob on the dash. valve is not repairable, replace with OEM part if you can still find one. i replaced one on the '86T and '88T. it's a PITA to replace but doable.
