Sounds like a stuck caliper to me. I'm not sure a bad bearing would allow the wheel to get that hot.
I had a rear caliper stick on me and when I finally pulled over the brake disk was glowing. It was so hot that when it cooled down it cracked. Also destroyed the seals in the nearby shock--which was brand new. That's nothing to fool around with. I'd get it properly diagnosed and fixed pronto.
