say there's a power (voltage or current or both) source and there's a line and finally there's a load on the other side of the line:
Source :=======: Load
I read 'take the measurements under load' as an instruction that a load must be connected to the source (thru the line) only, this instruction doesn't specify whether you should do the measurements at the source side of the line or near the load. And I believe the phrase 'take the measurements at the load' reads pretty straight forward, doesn't it?
For sure an experienced person will read your point (actually, a good one) right - meaning that it's the load terminals that you should hook to - but you must agree that it's not that rule of thumb for everyone.
