A neighbour had very similar stalling symptoms (as he described it) to BAAB's... sometimes it would start right up, rolling or not, and sometimes he needed a tow... slow speeds or on the highway... it was a 1993 900s. He had several mechanics look at it + they replaced a whack of stuff (including fuel pump)... he gave up + sent/is sending it to the wrecker...
Having looked at that car... red battery cable was a mess (battery totally drained). bougiecords looked old. newish non-bosch (black) cap with 1 carboned up contact. I had suggested changing that stuff out first, but it just wasn't happening. The car was a bit of a basket case anyway (rust etc). Good to make sure all that stuff is fine (even if it is likely the connector as Bob, and others pointed out). The original battery cables on cars up here (exposed to alternating cold winters and summer heat) are disintegrating + sometimes it is not obvious. I had lots of charging problems in our 1993 which were significantly a bad + battery cable (a few "minor" cracks in the insulation at the chassis clamp down between battery + engine, all else looked good)... measure the battery voltage with the car running... mine was low (12.7V iirc? should be well over 13V) because of that cable.
good luck!
James...
