I don't have nearly as complete a photo collection as you (thanks btw, great resource!), but here's a couple more (and I could easily provide others, I just don't have many hosted at the moment)... I have a couple c900 sedans and neither is rust free (rust free is impossible here! too much salt!) but both are pretty good for their age and the 1993 looks rust free (we all know how much that means though).
the photo below shows a pretty good example of the difference between oil spray + no oil spray. the mount itself was dry (no oil) before I sprayed it + took the picture and you can see all the rust + peeling paint. All of the insides of the un-sprayed for-sale 1993 I looked at last fall looked like that! The crossmember it is welded to did get spray + looks perfect (but grubby/oily). 99% of the car looks like that. For the most part, the only areas of the 1993 that are rusting are spots that didn't get spray... same could be said of the 1989 also, but there were more spots on it that didn't get oil, including a fender that went a almost a decade without the trim strip (sprayed on the outside but not the inside - rotting from the inside out)! A very thorough job with a creeping oil is important + I've since gone in there + sprayed areas on both cars myself that were dry. It's possible to DIY this, but you need a place where the cars can drip for 24hrs + it's kind of messy...
the link below is to a previous thread wrt some minor rust repair I did on the lip around the trunk. no rustproofing got in there. photo is at the por stage.
