Candidates include a failing master cylinder or slave cylinder. Bleeding might help, but don't bet on it. If one or the other have started to fail, the only real fix is to replace. If the bores haven't been pitted, they can also be rebuilt.
If if hasn't previously been fixed, it is also likely that the hole in the clutch pedal where the clevis from the master cylinder connects has become elongate. It can be drilled out and bushed.
If it has been a while since the brake fluid was replaced, get that done. Clean brake fluid helps prolong the life of brakes/clutch hydraulics.
