I have some new style seats (four bolt) that I plan install into an 89 with the old pattern. Here's my plan for what to do:
Cut out the old seat brackets, cut two pieces of angle iron to run across the exhaust tunnel, and weld in. Then drill holes to mount new seats. You could use some large washers as spacers to raise the seats up if needed. Brake lines will need to be moved more than likely as well (depending on the year). You may be able to do something similar for the 9-5 seats.
