Scanav,
When the car won't turn over are the headlights bright or dim? Normally there's not much in the starting circuit that is temperature sensitive so I suspect that you are starting and running briefly on a battery that's mostly dead (ahhh, Billy Crystal). It's mostly dead (ahhh, Robin Wright) due to all the usual possible reasons; old battery (won't take a charge), low alternator output (loose belts, no ground wire, bad regulator?) or bad connection in the charging circuit (most likely/common). When the car sits and cools down the battery also "chemically recharges" just enough to start and run for a few minutes again. There are many approaches to troubleshooting this condition but an easy first test is to see if, during the "no start" phase, the car can be jump started with jumper cables. Good luck.
