If you went to the dealer, back in the day, to have your car converted to R134 they had a Saab conversion kit. It had a drier, and 2 valves with the R134 connectors. The low side valve was on the end of a 6" hose. That hose connects to the R12 nipple on the back of the compressor. I presumed the hose was so you could comfortably get access to it with a gauge. Reason being the R12 nipples on the back of the compressor are so close together that the larger R134 gauge ends would interfere with each other if the conversion valves were placed there. Having said that, if you haven't seen that conversion hose it's a little hard to picture. Yes, the leak is in the conversion nipple in the end of low side hose. It looks to be some sort of plastic valve that serves in lieu of the typical schreader. I'm wondering if that plastic valve is replaceable and with what.
